Neches River Near Alto affecting Cherokee, Houston, Trinity and Anderson Counties. For the Neches River...including Alto...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neches River near Alto. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Lowland flooding of the heavily wooded floodplain will continue for the next several days. As the river falls slowly, flooding will gradually decrease. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:15 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 19.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 16.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:15 AM CDT Wednesday was 20.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 18.0 feet Monday morning. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.7 feet on 02/19/1950. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Do not drive cars through flooded areas.
